I was diagnosed with Minimal Change Disease in January. My kidneys suddenly stopped and can no longer regulate water. A treatment was put in place including daily anti rejection medication and hemo dialysis three times a week. I battle daily with nausea/vomiting, general muscle weakness, and swelling to all my extremities. This drastic decline has put me out of work for an unknown period of time. With hope, treatment was to improve my kidney function within 3months however it was unsuccessful. A Kidney transplant is my new reality at this stage. I’m lucky to have a wife who is a nurse and two teenage boys by my side cheering me on through this medical journey as we remain optimistic and hopeful for a healthier future.
