I am a 66 y/o man with FSGS and stage 5 kidney disease. Born in Rotterdam, NY I attended Draper Schools, SUNY@Albany and Albany Medical College. I have been married for 43 years to Karen Marcoux of Troy, NY. Father of 2: daughter Kristina Roddy, MD of Guilderland and Gregory Mankes of Ballston Spa, NY. Grandfather of 3: Sean and Kevin Roddy and Sonja Mankes.
I was a professor at the Albany Medical College for forty years having taught many physicians, PA’s and scientists. I also conducted research in Environmental Toxicology and Birth Defects and was in charge of the high level biohazard research lab at AMC before my disease forced my retirement.
I would like to see my grandchildren grow up and to fish and travel with my wife. A kidney transplant would make these things possible.
Thank you for considering my story and your interest in kidney donation.
