Hello!
I am a 53 year old mother of a young daughter.
I have had diabetes for 40+ years. Diabetes has resulted in many difficulties including a heart attack 8 years ago and losing a leg below my knee. I have suffered with chronic kidney disease for several years and I have been on dialysis for almost three years. Every time someone gets sick at dialysis it seems it travels to me. This past January I had the flu and suffered from a lingering bad cough that hurt my rib cage.
Both my parents died from sepsis due to complications from kidney disease. I am the youngest of 5 children though 2 of my siblings can’t be a donor due to medical issues and my oldest sister has disappeared from our lives.
I really think having a transplant would lessen some of the issues that keep coming at me.
