My Story – Kani Tucciarone

Kani Tucciarone lives in Lockport, NY. She has blood type B. You can contact Kani by using the form below.

My brothers and I love our Aunt Kani so much and wish we could give her a kidney, but no one in my family is able. She’s such a big part of our family, our children flock to her when we visit. She loves her two cats and has an absolutely contagious laugh. Even with her own health problems, Aunt Kanai moved her mother into her home so she can help her.

In 1993 Kani’s kidneys failed. Her high school sweetheart, Renee saved her and gave her one of his.  Sadly, in 2006 a problem caused the kidney to stop working. She’s been on dialysis since 2008. Uncle Renee received training to learn to do dialysis treatments and had a separate room added to their home for this. At 3AM before work as an auto mechanic he starts the dialysis, ensuring everything is running smoothly. She has had a roller coaster ride. Very serious issues with her dialysis access ports have made it urgent that she receive a new kidney as soon as possible!
