Roy Sheppard Needs a Kidney!
Roy Scott Sheppard, a dedicated and loving husband, father and son, who has been a resident of Lancaster, NY for the past 22 years, is in URGENT need of a living kidney donor. Might you be willing to spread the word in hopes that Roy will find a living kidney donor?
About Roy
Roy Sheppard, a project manager for Key Bank, currently resides in Lancaster with Mary, his wife of 19 years, and their 16 year old son, Andrew, who will be a junior at Lancaster High School this fall.
Roy’s story is one of perseverance and hope. At 60 years old, Roy has been living with diabetes for over 58 years, since the age of 18 months, and has
chronic kidney disease due to his diabetes. Roy has been approved for the transplant list at the University of Rochester.
It can take 4 to 6 years to get a new kidney from a deceased donor, and the success rates are not as positive as a live donor. Because of this, it is urgent that Roy finds a living donor whose selflessness, kindness and generosity will provide him with the gift of life.
Roy graduated from West Seneca East in 1982, and went on to earn a BA in math with a minor in computer science in 1986 from Geneseo, followed by a MBA from Canisius. Roy’s career path provided him with employment opportunities with CTG, Ingram Micro and FedEx in consultant and senior programming roles, followed by opportunities with HSBC, First Niagara Bank, and now Key Bank in the capacity of project manager.
Roy enjoys watching the Bualo Bills and Bualo Sabres, listening to Beatles music, and running, however, nothing brings Roy more joy than attending his son, Andrew’s, swim meets, going for walks with his wife, Mary, and spending quality time with his family, both at home and at Lime Lake which is a special place for Roy and his family. Roy has been creating memories at Lime Lake for his entire life, first with his parents, Roy A. (age 91) and Deann (age 85), and now with Mary and Andrew. Through the life-saving selflessness and
generosity of a living kidney donor, Roy and his family will be able to continue making memories for many more years to come!
“When I first met Roy, I found his positive attitude so uplifting. He always sees the good in others, and has always been kind to others. To this day he is optimistic and driven to live life to its fullest potential. He runs every day to stay in the best shape possible. His smile and his sense of humor are a daily reminder that I truly do love him more today than on the day we married.”
– Mary Sheppard, Roy’s wife
