I am born and raised in Buffalo, NY. I love this city and enjoy getting out and being active. I went to UB and now work at Independent Health in their IT project management area. I’ve been there for about 6 years now. I enjoy kayaking, hiking, yoga, gardening, going to the beach, art, and interior design. I just got married in the fall last year and we bought our first home over the winter. We’re hoping to have many happy years together in our new home.
About My Condition: When I was 14, I was diagnosed with a glomerulonephritis caused from the strep virus. I was fortunate to have some amazing doctors at Women and Children’s Hospital who helped me get back to an almost normal creatinine level. Over the last 16 years, I was able to live a mostly normal life – nephrology check-ups a couple times a year and some medications. However, over the last year, my kidney function has declined to only 15%. I’m now boarder line in need of dialysis (10% or under). The outlook is much better if you’re able to get a kidney transplant before dialysis. I am really hoping that I’ll be able to find a donor before I’m in need of dialysis.
I am on the waiting list at Erie County Medical Center in Buffalo, NY.
